Geocaching

West Virginia has adopted the latest trend of geocaching! Many may ask, what exactly is geocaching anyways? Well, it is more or less a modern day treasure hunt that was founded in 2000. Equipped with a GPS device and a set of coordinates informing you where a location of a cache is, players venture out in order to find a treasure on the adventure of a lifetime. When they find the location of the cache, players are rewarded with some sort of a goodie and often times a log book to record thoughts or stories.

Geocaching is a free adventure as long as the player is armed with a GPS device. This device is necessary to the game because it helps you locate where the caches are. It is important for players to keep in mind that getting to the caches is half the fun. You never know what may be standing in your way, and must always be prepared for an adventure!

In order to get started on this up and coming adventure, all you must do is get acquainted with your GPS device and use the Cache Search Page to find a cache to get started on. Once you make note of the latitude and longitude of the caches, enter them into your GPS and get started! You can do as many caches as you want in a day, and often, players like to leave their own caches in exchange!
